Welcome to the Emmaus Police Department web site.
The Emmaus Police Department serves the historic community of Emmaus, Pennsylvania. Emmaus is nestled on the northern slope of the South Mountain. It lies 50 miles north of Philadelphia and 20 miles west of the Delaware River. Emmaus was formed in 1759 as a closed Moravian village on land owned by the church. In 1859 it was incorporated as a Pennsylvania borough. During the late 1800's the Borough of Emmaus provided protection for the community by appointing "High Constables." The Emmaus Police Department was established in 1909 when Wilson Kratzer was appointed as the first Police Chief. Since then the Emmaus Police Department has grown to be a Pennsylvania Accredited Law Enforcement Agency. Currently, the department has a staff of 19 full time officers, 2 part time officers, 1 animal control officer, and 2 clerical staff. The department offers 24 hour professional service and coverage 365 days a year. The department operates out of a state of the art building located at 400 Jubilee St. in the Borough of Emmaus.

The mission of the Emmaus Police Department is to be a leader in providing total quality service to all of our residents as well as those who visit and work in our community. We will enforce the laws and ordinances of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Borough of Emmaus with complete fairness and equity. We will serve the needs of our community and our customers by building partnerships, and by identifying and solving problems. We will remain sensitive to the needs of our community and will always strive to improve the quality of life for everyone. We will maintain and fulfill our mission with a continued emphasis on improving our professional image in the eyes of the public through accountability, commitment, and integrity.
