                                 During the Late 1800's the Borough of Emmaus provided protection for the community by appointing "High Constables." 

                                 Emmaus appointed it's first Police Chief in 1909, and the Emmaus Police Department was established.

                                          Currently, the department has a staff of 19 full time officers which include;

                                          1 K-9 Officer, 2 Commercial Vehicle Inspectors, 3 Weigh Masters,

                                          2 Detectives, 1 Juvenile Officer, and numerous other specialties. 

                                          In addition to the full time Officers there are 8 Auxiliary Officers,

                          1 animal control Officer, and 2 Clerical staff personnel.
