Emmaus News and Events

Welcome to the Borough of Emmaus

Emmaus, Pennsylvania is a quaint historic community of 12,000 nestled on the northern slope of South Mountain. It lies 50 miles north of Philadelphia and 20  miles west of the Delaware River. Formed in 1759 as a closed Moravian village    on land owned by the church, Emmaus was incorporated as a Pennsylvania borough a hundred years later in 1859.

In an effort to provide more reliable and effective communications with the Community, the Borough of Emmaus has implemented Swiftreach Networks, Inc. as our emergency notification provider.

Swift911™ is a notification program with the capability of delivering recorded warnings to the entire community, via telephone or TTY (teletypewriter) to the Borough or specific areas to notify citizens by phone of information regarding you or your property. The system can make thousands of calls in a minute to convey vital information which may include water emergencies, weather emergencies or for sharing important information.

It is important for residents and business owners to provide contact information such as unlisted, unpublished or cell phone numbers. Accurate numbers in the database help to ensure emergency information will be passed on to everyone in a timely manner.

If you would like to provide an alternate number other than your home number you may also do so. The alternate phone number would be called if your primary phone number is not answered by a person or answering machine.

All calls you receive will have the caller ID of “Emmaus Borough.” Your information will not be provided to any outside agencies or companies.

To update your information please click on the Swift H20 Logo below. . If you do not have access to a computer you may call 610-965-9288 to provide information or email
